Sopro adhesive mortars – types and their applications

The Sopro brand should be known to anyone operating in the construction industry. This German manufacturer of construction chemicals is famous for its very high quality materials. The main products in the company's portfolio are primarily adhesive mortars, and there are a lot of them in Sopro's offer. We will base our choice of the right item for us mainly on parameters and scope of application. Which products of the brand are the most popular and which ones should we look at first?

Adhesive mortar

The main Sopro material with a fairly wide range of applications can be Sopro No.1 400 Extra . This is a multifunctional, highly elastic mortar. It meets the S1 deformability standard. It is highly enriched with fibers, which translates into its strength. The material itself will be highly elastic and deformable after hardening. With its help, we can attach and glue primarily ceramic tiles, but also stoneware, stoneware, mosaics, or even concrete slabs. The scope of application is also wide. We can use it in swimming pools, on terraces, facades, walls and floors, and many other facilities, such as service or industrial ones. Multifunctionality is provided by the execution of: thin-layer mortar, medium-layer mortar, semi-liquid mortar or filling of surfaces up to 20 mm thick.

A similar material to 400 Extra is the multifunctional mortar – Sopro FKM XL 444. The mortar is very light. In addition to the applications already mentioned in the previous product, such as interiors of residential, industrial or service premises, swimming pools and external terraces, balconies, facades, the product is well suited for laying large-format stoneware on both floors and walls. Bonding floor and wall coverings. In this case, multifunctionality allows us to create a thin, medium-layer mortar, or filler up to 10 mm thick.

Another highly elastic material will be Sopro FF 450 . This cement mortar will be used mainly in residential, industrial or service premises. We can use it in damp and wet rooms such as bathrooms, but also swimming pools. We can also use it outdoors on terraces, balconies or facades without any problems.

Adhesive mortars

If we need white mortar, we should take a look at Sopro FF 455 . It is also a highly flexible product that allows thin-layer gluing of light materials such as natural stone cladding, ceramic cladding, mosaic. It can be used both inside and outside.

Sopro FBK 372 extra, this mortar will allow us to glue tiles and thin-layer masonry. We can use it to build bricks, silicates and cellular concrete blocks. In addition, it is great for fixing all kinds of tiles - ceramic, glazed, terracotta, clinker, stoneware, small-format stoneware and many other similar materials on both the floor and walls.

Sopro adhesive mortars

When listing adhesive mortars, it is impossible not to mention Sopro MG-FLex 669 mortar with the S2 standard. The applied structure will be great for reducing stress. The material is highly deformable. It will mainly be used for laying stoneware or concrete slabs as well as natural stone for floors and interior walls. It ensures high strength and stability thanks to the applied fiber reinforcement.

Leveling mortars

Leveling mortars are materials that will be helpful in all types of repairs, leveling the surface of walls or floors. Such a product can be, for example, Sopro RAM 3. Cement, quick-setting filler. Suitable for mineral substrates such as brickwork or concrete. Perfect for renovations and repairs. It can be used both in rooms - including damp and wet ones, and on balconies and terraces.

Sopro AMT 468 is also a leveling mortar, enriched with trass – a mineral that limits the appearance of white efflorescence. The product will fill and repair floors, walls, concrete walls, and will also smooth screeds and plasters.

Self-leveling screed

If we are looking for a self-leveling screed, we should definitely check out Sopro WS 3.50. It is a cement mass with a quick setting that will level all types of floor coverings in rooms. High durability and the possibility of using a layer up to 50 mm. It has very good flowability.

Cement screed can be made using Sopro Rapidur M5 747 mortar. It is particularly useful when time is of the essence, as the product is fast-setting. First movement is possible after 12 hours, and tiling can begin after approx. 24 hours. Designed for bonded, floating, heated and separating screeds.

Sopro adhesive mortar price

Sopro materials are characterized by the highest quality. It is no wonder that the products of this brand will not be among the cheapest on the market. However, the reliability and durability of the products and often the time savings resulting from their use will definitely pay off for us.

So what are the prices of Sopro mortars?

When looking for a multifunctional mortar and deciding on the Sopro No. 1 400 Extra product, we should expect to pay around PLN 80 for a 22.5 kg bag. The super light FKM XL mortar will be twice as expensive with a smaller 15 kg bag but the same efficiency per bag.

Highly flexible adhesive mortars intended mainly for all types of tiles, glazes, terracotta for interior and exterior use cost around PLN 35-60 for a 25-kilogram bag of mortar. If we want to decide on a highly deformable mortar with the S2 standard – MG FLex 669, we must reckon with the amount of almost PLN 150 for 15 kg.

RAM 3 or AMT 468 leveling mortars can be purchased for approximately PLN 50-75 in 25kg bags.

The Sopro Floor WS 3.50 self-leveling screed will cost us less than PLN 50, and the Rapidur M5 747 quick mortar will cost us almost twice as much, both products in 25kg packages.

The products listed are not everything that Sopro offers. The manufacturer has a really wide range of materials, some with special parameters and specific applications.
