Primer for porous substances and plastics

Sika Primer 215 is a transparent, yellowish, low-viscosity substance that cures with moisture. It is used to prepare the surface of various plastics, wood and other porous surfaces to be bonded with Sikaflex products. Sika Primer 215 is manufactured according to the ISO 9001 / 14001 system, which guarantees high quality of the material.

APPLICATION

Sika Primer 215 is used on the following surfaces: Plastics such as GRP (polyester laminate), epoxy resins, PVC, ABS and wood. Due to the fact that plastics differ in chemical composition, it is necessary to carry out preliminary tests. Caution, do not use Sika Primer 215 on plastic surfaces that are susceptible to stress cracking, especially acrylics and polycarbonates.

APPLICATION METHOD

The surfaces of the primed materials must be dry, clean, free of rust, dust and grease. Adhesion to the surface can be enhanced by additional operations such as matting, degreasing, and activating. Adhesion can be improved by rubbing with Sika Aktivator 205 and allowing it to dry.

Apply a thin, uniform layer with a brush, piece of felt or applicator. Sika Primer 215 should be applied in a single coat. Make sure that a single layer ensures complete coverage of the surface. The ideal application and substrate temperature is between 15°C and 25°C.
