Sika Repair 13F - concrete repair mortar

Sika Repair 13 F is a polymer-cement mortar developed on the basis of one component. The PCC product is used for structural or superficial repair of concrete. It owes its properties not only to the presence of polymer, but also to synthetic fiber reinforcement. It is perfect for filling gaps ranging in size from 1 cm to 4 cm. These are usually defects related to exfoliation or damage to concrete in buildings or reinforced concrete structures. Sika concrete repair mortar complies with class R4.

Capacity : 25kg

Sika Repair 13 F – properties:

  • Non-toxic material,
  • Good mechanical properties,
  • Tightness,
  • High resistance to water, chlorides and other chemicals,
  • Product with high resistance to sulphate corrosion,
  • Good durability, waterproof and frost-resistant features,
  • Can be used for repairs in suspended and ceiling positions,
  • Ease of preparation,
  • Easy to apply,
  • High grip.

What is the use of mortar?

The primary purpose of Sika Repair 13 F is the repair of surface concrete and reinforced concrete structures. The mortar has above-average resistance to weather conditions and humidity. This, in turn, determines that Sika concrete repair mortar is widely used in:

  • general construction,
  • hydrotechnical facilities,
  • communication facilities,
  • sewage treatment plants,
  • sewers,
  • Places exposed to increased sulphate aggression.

Sika Repair 13 F material is perfect for repairing concrete exposed to difficult environmental conditions. By adding mortar to a concrete structure, it is possible to strengthen it and increase its load-bearing capacity and passivity. The preparation is also used to repair local defects. They are filled in layers.

How to apply Sika Repair 13 F?

Sika Repair 13 F can be applied using traditional techniques – by hand or by spraying. Before use, the mortar must be mixed with water in a ratio of 3 liters per 25 kg. The mixture should have a homogeneous consistency. Obtaining it usually requires at least 3 minutes of mixing using an electric mixer. If you care about the stickiness of the mortar, you can slightly reduce the amount of water. The amount of consumption of Sika concrete repair mortar depends on the roughness of the substrate, the application method and the losses associated with the application process.

Mortar for repairing concrete structures – how to use:

  1. Remove the damaged or rusty part of the concrete until you reach a "healthy" surface.
  2. The substrate, ready for mortar application, is matt and damp. Moreover, it should not show any traces of dirt, grease or old coatings.
  3. If it is necessary to apply a bonding layer of Sika Repair 10 F to the substrate, apply it to the surface by rubbing. It will then be possible to apply an additional layer using a trowel or trowel. Press it into the substrate and then remove it with a shearing motion.
  4. If the substrate does not require the use of a Sika 10 F bonding layer, apply 20 F mortar on a matt-damp substrate. After initially removing the mortar, you can additionally smooth the surface using damp sponge or felt floats.
  5. Before applying the next layer (at +20°C), it is necessary to wait about 5 days.
  6. After finishing the work, wash the tools immediately with water.
  7. Protect the applied mortar from drying for about 2-3 days until it reaches 50% of its final durability. This is a standard procedure, also used in the case of ordinary mortars.

Concrete repair mortar – what is worth knowing?

  • Sika Repair 13 F is best used within 6 months from the date of production.
  • The mortar should be stored in a dry room and protected from moisture.
  • The mortar meets the corrosion test and its reaction to fire is class A.

  • Packing : 25 kg bags
  • Appearance / Color: Gray powder

INFORMATION ABOUT THE APPLICATION

Mixing proportions

Sika® Repair-13 F : water - 100 : 12 by weight 3 liters of water per 25 kg bag. To increase the stickiness and stability of the mortar (e.g. in a vertical, hanging or ceiling position), the amount of water can be reduced to approx. 2.75 liters per 1 25 kg bag.

Wear

Theoretical consumption: ~19.5 kg/m²/cm. Practical consumption depends on the roughness of the substrate, application method and losses during application.

Layer thickness

Minimum 1 cm / Maximum 4 cm in one laying cycle.

Waiting time / Repainting

The minimum technological break before applying any subsequent layers is (at +20°C):

  • for Sika® Repair-20 F or Sika® Repair-30 F: minimum 12 hours
  • for one-component Sikagard® coatings: minimum 5 days
  • for two-component coatings such as Icosit® and Sikafloor®: not less than 7 days and not earlier until the moisture content of the material drops to below 4%.
