A medium dismountable general purpose sealant with high contamination resistance. It is perfect for sealing rigid flange joints made of cast iron, steel and aluminium.

LOCTITE 518 cures when air is removed between closely adhering metal surfaces. It is an anaerobic sealant for hard cast iron, aluminum and steel adjacent flange joints. Fills gaps up to 0.25mm to form a flexible, chemically resistant seal that will not tear or decay. Parts can be easily removed even after extended use. Typical applications include sealing close-fitting joints between rigid metal surfaces and flanges. It is also used as a form-in-place gasket for rigid flange connections, e.g. gear boxes and motor housings.
