SikaGard 6220 is a durable amber colored wax with excellent anti-corrosion properties. It effectively protects the chassis profiles of the vehicle, is easy to use and has exceptional penetrating properties, perfectly protecting even hard-to-reach areas and narrow gaps, small scratches. After drying, it creates a brown, slightly sticky layer of wax that protects the profiles against corrosion.

APPLICATION

SikaGard 6220 is a sprayable anti-corrosion coating for the repair and protection of invisible vehicle components such as door moldings, side panels, bonnets, luggage racks, fenders, sills, columns and B-pillars. When applied, it does not create a mist, penetrates hair-thick cracks and does not flow out during drying.

SikaGard 6220 has good adhesion to a variety of paints, metal primers, metals and PVC without the need for pre-treatment.

The product is intended only for experienced and professional users. Testing is recommended for actual conditions and selected surfaces to ensure adhesion and proper material selection.

APPLICATION METHOD

Surface preparation

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dust, rust and grease. Bare metal must be suitably treated to enhance corrosion protection (e.g. bare steel, etc.).

Overlaying

SikaGard 6220 is applied with light airless spray equipment with a working pressure of 3 - 6 bar, e.g. Sika CW Gun or Sika UBC+Gun. Shake approx. 40 times before use. Cover the elements adjacent to the field to be sprayed. Spray at room temperature, from a distance of approx. 25 cm in the case of flat surfaces or using a flexible hose in the case of profiles, using ready-made or drilling new access points in the car body. Apply a continuous layer. Do not spray on brake, engine and exhaust components.

Cleaning

The fresh layer of SikaGard 6220 is removed from tools and equipment with Sika Remover 208 or other suitable product. After drying, SikaGard 6220 can only be removed mechanically. Hands and exposed skin should be cleaned immediately with Sika Handclean towels or a suitable industrial hand cleaner and water. Do not use solvents!

Painting

SikaGard 6220 is not paintable.
