Sika Primer-507 is based on Purform®, an industry-leading polyurethane containing less than 0.1% monomeric diisocyanate to better protect occupational health and safety. It is a solvent-based black primer that reacts with moisture to form a thin film. This coating acts as a connector between substrates and adhesives.
Capacity: 250ml
Black colour
Sika® Primer-507 has been specially developed to prepare surfaces prior to the application of Sika flexible adhesives and sealants. The primer can provide excellent adhesion to many substrates without the need for an initial activation phase. Sika Primer-507 fluoresces under long-wave UV light for a limited time, which is useful for controlling manufacturing processes.
PRODUCT ADVANTAGES
SCOPE OF APPLICATION
Sika Primer-507 is used to improve adhesion on a very wide range of substrates such as float glass, ceramic-coated glass, plastics, primers, painted surfaces, cataphoretic coatings and metals. Manufacturer's advice should be sought and tests should be carried out on original substrates before using Sika Primer-507 on materials susceptible to stress cracking. This product is intended for experienced professional users only. Tests should be performed on actual substrates and conditions to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.
APPLICATION METHOD
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease, oil, dust and dirt. The adhesion of the primer to the surface can be increased by additional operations such as matting, degreasing and activation.
App
Before use, shake the container of Sika Primer-507 until the mixing ball rattles freely. Continue shaking for another minute and then apply a thin but opaque layer using a brush or a felt or sponge applicator. The ideal application and substrate temperature is between 15 °C and 25 °C. Sika Primer-507 should be applied in one coat only. You should make sure that this one layer provides adequate, tight coverage. Consumption and application method depend on the specificity of the substrates. Close the container tightly immediately after each use.
IMPORTANT NOTE
If Sika Primer-507 is used at temperatures below 5 °C, additional testing is necessary. Sika Primer-507 reacts with moisture. In order to maintain the appropriate quality of the product, it is necessary to close the container with an internal plastic cap immediately after each use. After completing the surface preparation process, the container should be closed with the original cap. The product should be disposed of approximately one month after first opening in case of frequent use, or approximately two months in case of infrequent use. 100ml packages should be disposed of two weeks after opening. If the product gels, separates ingredients or significantly increases viscosity, it should be disposed of immediately. Never dilute or mix the product with other substances. If transparent or translucent substrates such as plastics or glass are used, it is necessary to provide adequate UV protection.
