SikaPower 320 - Thermosetting sealant for powder coating

SikaPower®-320 is a one-component, cold-applied, heat-curing sealant based on epoxy resin and polyurethane.

It is formulated to be sealed immediately prior to powder coating or oven enamel and cures with the paint in the oven.

SCOPE OF APPLICATION

SikaPower®-320 is suitable for sealing a variety of metals and can be used in conjunction with spot welding, riveting, clamping and other mechanical joining processes. SikaPower®-320 can be applied to oily substrates as the surface oil (up to 3 g/m2) is absorbed during the thermal curing process. This product is intended for experienced professional users only. Tests should be performed on actual substrates and conditions to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.

HARDENING MECHANISM

SikaPower®-320 is heat cured. The curing speed depends on the temperature and exposure time. The most commonly used heat sources are convection ovens. The maximum temperature cannot exceed 230°C. The minimum curing temperature cannot be lower than 140 °C (substrate temperature).

The temperature and time of exposure to heat can affect the properties of the final product. To ensure proper curing and seal performance, preliminary testing with original components under actual curing conditions should be performed.
