Sikaflex® SOLO - Polyurethane adhesive for windshield replacement, no primer required.

Sikaflex SOLO is a solvent free, primerless windshield replacement adhesive offering a 3 hour Minimum Time of Departure (MDAT). It has a long open time and ensures safe application even in warm climates. Sikaflex SOLO does not leave an unpleasant odor in the car after replacing the windshield.

Sikaflex SOLO is the successor to SikaTack Go4IT in Sika's range of automotive glass bonding products.

Note: Primerless glass application requires the glass to be prepared with an automotive grade glass cleaner such as Sika Cleaner G+P. The glued surfaces must be free of contamination and have adequate protection against UV radiation.

SCOPE OF APPLICATION

Sikaflex® SOLO is a glass adhesive intended for for experienced professional users only . The information provided is for the windshield replacement application. For other applications, tests with actual substrates and conditions should be performed to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.

APPLICATION METHOD

Surface preparation

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease, oil, dust and dirt. Bonding surfaces should be prepared with an automotive grade automotive glass cleaner such as Sika® Cleaner G+P. Sikaflex® SOLO can be used on ceramic and glass prints without additional surface preparation. More information on the use of surface preparation agents can be found in the relevant Product Data Sheet.

The product is compatible with the Sika Black-Primerless and All Black car window replacement process. Glass without ceramic coatings requires adequate protection against UV radiation.

App

It is recommended to use piston-type guns to apply the adhesive. Sikaflex® SOLO can be applied with good quality manual guns.

Please note that the viscosity of the product increases at low temperature. In order to facilitate application, the adhesive should be stored at room temperature before use. To ensure a uniform thickness of the joint, it is recommended to apply the adhesive in the form of a triangular bead

The open time is much shorter in hot and humid climates. The glass must always be glued within the open time.

Never glue the glass if the glue has built up a skin.

Removal

Uncured Sikaflex® SOLO can be removed from tools and equipment with Sika® Remover-208 or another suitable solvent. After curing, the material can only be removed mechanically. Hands and exposed skin should be washed immediately with hand towels such as Sika® Cleaner-350H or a suitable industrial hand cleaner and water. Do not use solvents on the skin!
