SCOPE OF APPLICATION

SikaTack® DRIVE (60 min) is for experienced professional users only.

Information provided applies to windshield replacement applications. For other applications, tests with actual substrates and conditions must be performed to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.

APPLICATION METHOD

Surface preparation

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of grease, oil, dust and dirt.

Bonding surfaces must be prepared in accordance with the Sika Black-Primerless or All Black installation process. For more information on application and surface preparation, please refer to the relevant product data sheet. Glass without ceramic coatings requires adequate protection against UV radiation.

App

SikaTack® DRIVE (60 min) can be applied between 5 °C and 35 °C (ambient and product) but changes in reactivity and application properties must be considered. The optimum temperature of the substrate and adhesive is between 15°C and 25°C.

It is recommended to apply SikaTack® DRIVE (60 min) with a battery or pneumatic piston gun. Please note that the viscosity of the product increases at low temperature. In order to facilitate application, the adhesive should be stored at room temperature before use.

To ensure a uniform thickness of the joint, it is recommended to apply the adhesive in the form of a triangular bead.

The open time is much shorter in hot and humid climates. The glass must always be glued within the open time.

Never glue the glass if the glue has built up a skin.

Removal

Uncured SikaTack® DRIVE (60 min) can be removed from tools and equipment with Sika® Remover-208 or other suitable solvent. After curing, the material can only be removed mechanically. Hands and exposed skin should be washed immediately with hand towels such as Sika® Cleaner-350H or a suitable industrial hand cleaner and water. Do not use solvents on the skin!

Sika® Primer-207

Black colour

Sika® Primer-207 is a black, moisture-curing, liquid primer designed to prepare bonded surfaces prior to the application of Sika® polyurethane adhesives and sealants. This primer can provide excellent adhesion without pre-activation on many surfaces.

The advantage of Sika® Primer-207 is its short drying time and fast adhesion build-up. Sika®Primer-207 fluoresces when exposed to long-wave UV light.

APPLICATION

Sika® Primer-207 is used to improve the adhesion of a wide range of substrates such as float glass, ceramic coated glass, primers, painted surfaces, cataphoretic coatings and metals.

For surfaces prone to stress cracking, the manufacturer's advice should be sought before applying Sika® Primer-207 and tests should be performed on original substrates.

APPLICATION METHOD

Surfaces must be clean, dry, free from grease, oil, dust and contamination. The adhesion of the primer to the surface can be increased by additional operations such as matting, degreasing and activating.

App

Shake the Sika® Primer-207 can before use. Apply a thin but covering layer using the included sponge applicator.

The ideal application and substrate temperature is between 15 °C and 25 °C.

Sika® Primer-207 should be applied in one coat only. Make sure that this one layer provides adequate, tight coverage. Consumption and method of application depend on the specificity of the substrate.
