Anaerobic fixing agent - difficult to disassemble. general purpose. Cures quickly.

LOCTITE 638 is designed for the bonding of concentric parts, especially for gaps down to 0.25mm. The product cures in the absence of air when placed between close-fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening of joints and leakage due to shock loads and vibration. It works not only on active metals, but also on passive surfaces, it cures quickly. The product is resistant to high temperatures and tolerates light oil and light surface contamination.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

It is used to bond cylindrical mating joints, particularly where joint gaps can be as small as 0.25 mm (0.01") and where maximum room temperature strength is required. Applications include seating rings and sleeves in housings and shafts.
