Sika Chapdur Extra floor covering

Sika Chapdur Extra is a one-component, pre-mixed, dry, mineral hardening mixture for concrete, consisting of cement, hard aggregates, specially selected quartz aggregates, admixtures and pigments.

USAGE

Sika Chapdur Extra is intended for use by experienced contractors.

  • Sika Chapdur Extra is an abrasion-resistant, non-metallic dry coating for monolithic floors. Sprinkled and floated on a fresh, damp concrete floor, it creates a smooth, wear-resistant surface.
  • Typical use in warehouses, production plants, shopping centers, public buildings, restaurants and museums.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

  • Chemical base: A mixture of natural and synthetic aggregates mixed with cement, admixtures and pigments.
  • Appearance / Color: Gray powder
  • Density: ~ 2.3 ± 0.05 kg/dm3 (density of the bound material)

  • Abrasion resistance: ~46 µm (BCA), AR class 0.5
  • Compressive strength: ≥ 70 MPa (after 28 days)
  • Bending strength: ≥ 7.0 MPa (after 28 days)
  • Reaction to fire: A1fl

INFORMATION ABOUT THE APPLICATION

  • Wear: ~ 3.0-5.0 kg/m2. The given value does not take into account the substrate profile and material losses.
  • Ambient temperature: Minimum +5°C / Maximum +35°C
  • Substrate temperature: Minimum +5°C / Maximum +35°C
  • Waiting time / Repainting: The application time of dry sprinkle products depends on many variables that result from the concrete placing process and may therefore vary significantly depending on the prevailing conditions. When applied mechanically with an automatic paver and laser screed, paving of the material can begin almost immediately after the concrete is leveled to allow for hydration of the dry mix. Compaction with trowels can be started as soon as the concrete has achieved sufficient strength to support the weight of the trowels on its surface.

    When applying by hand, dry sprinkles must be spread as soon as the concrete can be stepped on, without leaving traces deeper than 3 - 5 mm.

    Periodically checking the condition of the concrete allows you to determine the appropriate time frame for each application step.
