Sika Primer 207 is a black, moisture-curing, liquid primer designed to prepare bonded surfaces prior to the application of Sika polyurethane adhesives and sealants. This primer can provide excellent adhesion without pre-activation on many surfaces.
The advantage of Sika Primer 207 is its short drying time and fast adhesion build-up. Sika Primer 207 fluoresces when exposed to long-wave UV light.
Sika Primer 207 is used to improve the adhesion of a wide range of substrates such as float glass, ceramic coated glass, primers, painted surfaces, cataphoretic coatings and metals.
For surfaces prone to stress cracking, the manufacturer's advice should be sought before applying Sika Primer 207 and tests should be performed on original substrates.
Surfaces must be clean, dry, free from grease, oil, dust and contamination. The adhesion of the primer to the surface can be increased by additional operations such as matting, degreasing and activating.
Before use, shake the Sika Primer 207 container until the mixing ball rattles freely. Continue shaking for another minute, then apply a thin but covering layer with a brush or felt or sponge applicator.
The ideal application and substrate temperature is between 15 °C and 25 °C.
Sika Primer 207 should be applied in one coat only. Make sure that this one layer provides adequate, tight coverage. Consumption and method of application depend on the specificity of the substrate. Close the container tightly immediately after each use.
Coverage: depending on the porosity of the substrate 50 ml/m2
Evaporation time: above 5 °C - 10 minutes (maximum 24 hours)
