CONCRETE REPAIR MORTAR

Sika Repair 13 F is a polymer-cement mortar developed on the basis of one component. The PCC product is used for structural or superficial concrete repair. It owes its properties not only to the presence of a polymer, but also to reinforcements made of synthetic fibers. It is perfect for filling cavities from 1 cm to 4 cm. Typically, these are defects related to exfoliation or damage to concrete in buildings or reinforced concrete structures. Sika concrete repair mortar complies with class R4.

Sika Repair 13 F – properties:

  • non-toxic material,
  • Good mechanical properties,
  • Tightness,
  • High resistance to water, chlorides and other chemicals,
  • Product with high resistance to sulphate corrosion,
  • Good strength, watertight and frost-resistant properties,
  • Can be used for repairs in the overhang and ceiling position,
  • ease of preparation,
  • ease of application,
  • High grip.

What is the use of mortar?

The primary purpose of Sika Repair 13 F is to repair surface concrete and reinforced concrete structures. The mortar provides above-average resistance to weather conditions and humidity. This, in turn, makes Sika concrete repair mortar widely used in:

  • general construction,
  • hydrotechnical facilities,
  • communication facilities,
  • sewage treatment plants,
  • sewers,
  • Places exposed to increased sulphate aggression.

Sika Repair 13 F is ideal for repairing concrete exposed to harsh environmental conditions. By adding mortar to a concrete structure, it is possible to strengthen it and increase its load-bearing capacity and passivity. The preparation is also used to repair local defects. They are filled in layers.

How to apply Sika Repair 13 F?

The application of Sika Repair 13 F can be carried out by traditional techniques - by hand or by spraying. Before use, the mortar must be mixed with water in the proportion of 3 liters per 25 kg. The mixture should have a homogeneous consistency. Getting it usually requires at least 3 minutes of mixing with an electric stirrer. If you care about the stickiness of the mortar, you can slightly reduce the amount of water. The amount of consumption of Sika concrete repair mortar depends on the roughness of the substrate, the method of application and the losses associated with the application process.

Mortar for repairing concrete structures - how to use:

  1. Remove any damaged or rusted concrete until a "healthy" subfloor is reached.
  2. The substrate ready for application of the mortar is matt-damp. What's more, it should not bear any traces of dirt, grease or old coatings.
  3. If a bonding layer of Sika Repair 10 F is required on the substrate, apply it by rubbing it into the surface. Then it will be possible to apply an additional layer with a trowel or trowel. Press it against the substrate and then remove it with a shearing motion.
  4. If the substrate does not require a Sika 10 F bonding coat, apply a 20 F mortar on the matt damp substrate. After initial removal of the mortar, you can additionally smooth the surface using damp sponge or felt floats.
  5. Before applying the next layer (at +20°C) it is necessary to wait about 5 days.
  6. Wash tools with water immediately after use.
  7. Protect the applied mortar from drying out for about 2-3 days, until it reaches 50% of its final strength. This is a standard procedure, also used in the case of ordinary mortars.

Concrete repair mortar - what is worth knowing?

  • Sika Repair 13 F is best used within 6 months from the date of manufacture.
  • The mortar should be stored in a dry room and protected from moisture.
  • The mortar meets the corrosion test and its reaction to fire is equal to class A.

APP INFORMATION

Mixing ratio

Sika® Repair-13 F : water - 100 : 12 by weight 3 liters of water per 25 kg bag. To increase the stickiness and stability of the mortar (e.g. in a vertical, suspended or ceiling position), the amount of water can be reduced to approx. 2.75 liters per 1 25 kg bag.

Wear

Theoretical consumption: ~19.5 kg/m²/cm. Practical consumption depends on the roughness of the substrate, method of application, losses during application.

Layer thickness

Minimum 1 cm / Maximum 4 cm in one laying cycle.

Waiting Time / Overcoating

The minimum technological break before applying any subsequent layers is (at +20°C):

  • for Sika® Repair-20 F or Sika® Repair-30 F: minimum 12 hours
  • for one-component Sikagard® coatings: minimum 5 days
  • for two-component coatings such as Icosit® and Sikafloor®: not less than 7 days and not earlier, until the moisture content of the material drops below 4%.
