SikaGrout 4R is ready to use, self leveling and shrink free cement mortar with a grain size of 0/4mm. In the liquid-plastic phase, it is characterized by a small expansion and normal growth endurance . The mortar complies with the principles of structural repairs regarding the anchoring of steel reinforcing bars in accordance with PN-EN 1504-6. In addition, it also meets the requirements for class R4 repair mortar in accordance with PN-EN 1504-3. The material can also be used fine-grained self-compacting concrete with a strength class of at least 34-45.
SikaGrout 4R is easy to use, just add water and it is ready to use. Thanks to the fact that we can add the right amount of water ourselves, we can easily adjust its consistency. The minimum layer is 1.5 cm and the maximum is 5 cm. Locally, the thickness of the layer can be doubled, i.e. it can be up to 10 cm. The mortar is self-levelling, strength build-up is normal and final strength is high. In addition, it expands by gas evolution while still in the liquid-plastic phase. Once set, SikaGrout 8N is vibration and impact resistant as well as watertight and frostproof. The material is non-toxic and non-flammable, the reaction to fire class is A1.
USAGE
SikaGrout®-4 R is primarily used as a flowing grout or anchor mortar with a layer thickness/distance from the anchor to the walls of the hole between 1.5 cm and 5 cm.
Locally, the maximum thickness of the mortar layer may be greater than 5 cm, up to 10 cm. It is also possible, after appropriate tests, to add a good quality aggregate to the material (in the amount of 25-35% of the dry component weight, depending on the aggregate quality) and use it as a fine-grained self-compacting concrete (SCC). The use of additional aggregate does not affect the amount of mixing water.

Mixing ratio
Use a maximum of 12% of mixing water (3.0 liters of water for 1 bag of 25 kg). If necessary, the liquidity of the material can be reduced by reducing the amount of water, but to a level not lower than 11%. In the case of additional graining, use only very good quality washed aggregates of 4/8 or 5/8 mm fraction - e.g. those required for high-strength hydrotechnical or bridge concretes. The recommended amount ranges from 25-35% of the weight of the dry ingredient (depending on the density, form and roughness of the grains and the required leveling of the ready mix).
The use of additional aggregate does not affect the amount of mixing water.
Wear
Depending on the roughness of the substrate and the thickness of the layer. Approx. 18 kg of dry mortar per 1 m² per 1 cm layer thickness.
Efficiency
One 25 kg bag yields an average of 12.5 - 13.5 dm3 of fresh mortar.
Layer thickness
Minimum 1.5 cm / maximum 5 cm (when used as a grout or anchor mortar).
Locally, the maximum thickness of the mortar layer may be greater than 5 cm, up to 10 cm. It is also possible, after carrying out appropriate tests, to additionally grain the material with good quality aggregate (in the amount of 25-35% of the weight of the dry component, depending on the quality of the aggregate).
setting time
From 5 to 10 hours.
Frost resistance after 24 hours at a curing temperature of + 5 °C (the mortar must not be exposed to frost during this time).
